Book of the Month - JUNE

THE CONCRETE GARDEN

By Bob Graham

This CBCA 2024 notable book is a COVID inspired story that is a bright and colourful celebration of the end of lockdown for young children in a tightly packed apartment block. A story of unity as families connected around the world and closer to home to celebrate the small joys and moments of happiness.

Look and read how a community embraced creativity and spirit!

The children came outside to play in the sunshine.

Together with a box of chalk they decorated the concrete pavement into a concrete garden. Smiles and applauds by all who saw. You will notice the children are living and playing together in a microcosm.

This new read connected some students to their neighbourhood friendships and the games they play in their community.

This is a CBCA Notable book!

This is a new read in the BPS Library!

Come inside and read!

You will find it on display with all the other CBCA 2024 shortlisted titles!
