House Swimming Sports

House swimming looked slightly different this year with students meeting at the College for house meetings before walking down to the pool as a school.

Students looked fantastic in Purple, Blue, Yellow and Green! Best dressed winners where Marley, Chase, Tamsyn, Clancy, Crystal Rose and the Yr 12 Gangstas!

The day flew by with high participation rates of students from both houses. The Sports captains organised great novelty events including a Floating and Sinker Grab, Year 12 and Buddies Boogie Board race and a Year 12 vs staff Kayak race.

Congratulations to Ebony and Heidi who both broke records in their respective age groups in Freestyle, Backstroke and Butterfly.

Thank you to all parents who were able to attend and support the day and thank you to all staff involved for assisting and making the day run smoothly.

NCD swimming carnival will be held in St Arnaud on Monday the 19th of Feb.

GRIP Leadership Conference

Thank you and well done to the College Leaders for their passion and commitment at yesterday’s Leadership conference. The day was filled with great discussions, laughs and many ideas that they can bring back to the school. It was very impressive to see our Leaders interact with students from other schools without hesitation and participate in all the activities. Our very own Fletcher Holmes-Brown even got some time to shine on the stage – in front of 1000 other students!

Our Leaders participated in the following workshops:

  • Being a student leadership team that takes a step forward.
  • The sacrifices of a student leader.
  • How to lead when it feels like nobody wants to follow.
  • How to make improvements to our school culture.

Careers and Pathways

The Science Experience is a fun 1, 3 or 4 days of science activities for Year 9 & 10 students.

Each program is designed to provide students who have an interest in science with an opportunity to engage in a wide range of fascinating science activities under the guidance of scientists who love their work.

Upcoming Program:

RMIT University, Melbourne

Program Dates: 2 - 4 July 2024

Best Apply Before: 20 June 2024

Year 9 and 10 students will engage in a 3-day program and will work within teams to collaborate, learn and solve real-world problems using STEM principles. Our workshops will be across a range of disciplines such as:

Space science

Technology

Biomedical science

Food science

Allied health sciences

Engineering

Students will have the opportunity over the three days to interact with academics, RMIT staff and current students. Teams will be led by our Women in STEM Ambassadors which will provide further opportunities for students to ask questions about university life and what a STEM career path might look like.
