Congratulations to Lucienne K who was awarded First Prize in the 2025 TEA Textile Art Piece (TAP) Challenge, proudly sponsored by S&S.

The 2025 theme, “Only NATURAL”, challenged students to creatively interpret and showcase natural elements through textile art and Lucienne’s piece was a stunning response.

Lucienne drew inspiration from the view out of her bedroom window, looking up towards her grandparents’ red house. She incorporated natural cotton to enhance the organic feel of the work, staying true to the theme.

Using appliqué felt and a combination of decorative hand and machine stitching, she created depth and texture throughout the landscape. French knots added character and interest to the sheep, while the entire piece was constructed using patchwork techniques.

Lucienne’s work demonstrated exceptional creativity, technical skill and a heartfelt connection to place. We are incredibly proud of her achievement and the care she put into every detail. Well done, Lucienne!

Congratulations to Noah P and Hayden G on successfully attaining their Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry certification! This is a fantastic achievement and an important first step towards working safely and confidently within the construction industry. Well done on your hard work and commitment — we are very proud of you both!
