Health and Wellbeing

Welcome to all the new families joining BSPS in 2026, and welcome back to existing families! I am thrilled to be teaching Health and Wellbeing for this school year and as some of you may know, it has been a passion of mine for a long time now.

The year started off in Week 2, with some getting to know each other activities in the junior school and some reflections and check-ins in the senior school. For the first half of Term 1, the focus for all year levels will be on emotions. In Foundation, Year 1, and Year 2 this will involve recognising some of the emotions we feel ourselves and learning to identify when other people may be feeling a specific emotion. In Years 3 – 6, this will step up a notch, and students will be looking at strategies they have/can use to regulate in different situations, as well as how to support each other to maintain regulation in more challenging situations.

There have been a few new members added to the Health and Wellbeing team this year. Please ask students about Billie (F-2), Bob (3-6), and The Book of Awesome (school wide). We will also have a Star of the Lesson (F-2) and Session Superstar (3-6) announced at the end of each class. Congratulations to all our Week 2 stars of Health and Wellbeing!

See you soon!
