Work Experience - Year 10 2026

In 2025, Year 10 students will have the opportunity to participate in one/two week(s) of Work ExperienceThis program is a part of secondary schooling and integral to the Career Education Program at this school.  The aim of the program is for students to gain first-hand experience in a work situation and develop an understanding of the process involved in choosing a career.

We would appreciate your assistance in encouraging your daughter to participate in this worthwhile program. Students who leave work experience organisation to the last minute, often miss out of their desired career choice.

All placements and paperwork for Work Experience are to be finalised 3 weeks before the date of any work experience.

The following weeks have been set aside for any student wishing to do work experience, this year dates will be flexible, and students can negotiate with the Careers Adviser and their teacher to go on work experience for the week.  If these dates are not suitable with employers, students can discuss this with the Careers Adviser.

UNSW Gateway Program

On Thursday 26 February Year 10 students participated in an inspiring UNSW Gateway workshop to explore how their personal values can guide them to future careers and degrees. Through thoughtful discussions with current UNSW Gateway Ambassadors students explored their personal values and learned how values can connect them to potential career paths and study options. The UNSW Ambassadors, including Beverly Hills Girls High alumna Rubaiyat Roja, shared their own educational journeys from high school to UNSW, encouraging Year 10s to remain open to various pathways for the future.

As a UNSW Gateway Partner School, our students benefit from in-school workshops, on-campus experience days, HSC support, and the opportunity to apply for early entry to UNSW with an adjusted ATAR requirement. For more information, visit UNSW Gateway.

UOW Discovery Day

The possibilities are endless…

56 students from the Class of 2026 had an eye opening experience, with the opportunity to attend lectures in subjects of their choice at the University of Wollongong.

The experience of university life proved to be beneficial to all students who attended, most importantly focusing on the lectures attended, and provided insight into their future of study.

University life is incomplete without the community experiences it offers, and so students were able to have a holistic experience of university life, immersing in the diversity and social aspects, meeting many new people.

Overall, a day of learning, exploring and stepping out of their comfort zone enabled the students to be another step closer to be able to make informed decisions about their future.
