Principal's Report
Kylie O'Donnell
Loving God,
We thank you for the gift of our Catholic schools:
communities of faith, learning, and care.
We thank you for our students,
with their questions, gifts, hopes, and dreams.

May they grow in wonder, wisdom, and witness.
We thank you for our families,
the first educators of their children.
Strengthen them in their vocation of love and nurture.
We thank you for our staff and leaders,
called to teach, guide, support and witness to the Gospel each day.
Renew them with joy, patience, and hope.
May our schools always be places
where faith is lived, truth is sought,
and every person is known, valued, and loved.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
This week we celebrate Catholic Schools Week, a moment to recognise the distinctive gift Catholic education offers our children and families. Catholic schools are places where strong learning, deep care, and a sense of purpose come together. What sets us apart is our commitment to educating the whole child - mind, heart and spirit within a community where every student is known and valued.
This year also marks the launch of Magis 2033, Sydney Catholic Schools’ new strategic direction, which calls us to strive for “the more” more curiosity, more compassion, more excellence, and more opportunities for every learner. At St Margaret Mary’s, this aligns beautifully with our C.A.R.E values and our belief that every child can grow and flourish through collaboration, accountability, reflection and engagement.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming families to our upcoming St Margaret Mary’s Open Days:
Thursday morning – All existing parents are warmly invited to visit classrooms and see learning in action.
Thursday afternoon, 4:00–6:00 pm – For prospective parents considering enrolment for 2027.
Saturday morning, 9:00–11:00 am – For prospective parents who cannot attend during the week.
A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated teachers and our senior students who are generously giving their time to ensure these out‑of‑hours sessions run smoothly. Their pride in our school is evident, and we are grateful for their commitment.

To celebrate Catholic Schools Week, students will enjoy a BBQ on Thursday during the second break.
Each child is asked to bring a $10 donation for Caritas, which includes:
Please ensure your child has food for the first break, as the BBQ will not take place until later in the day.

A number of parents have contacted the school with concerns about the morning car line, particularly when there is no supervision. To keep all students safe, please follow these essential guidelines:
Our students’ safety is a shared responsibility, and following the Kiss and Go procedures ensures a smooth and secure drop‑off for everyone.
