From the Principals Desk
March 2026
Welcome to what has already begun as a positive and eventful school year at Northern Bay College. We have certainly enjoyed a vibrant start, with events such as our whole-college Student Leadership Presentation Ceremony, an outstanding Year 7-12 Athletics Day and strong family engagement across our Community Events at all campuses. We look forward to continuing this momentum of community and families on Campus with our Community Harmony Day Event – a free event – planned for Saturday, March 21st at Goldsworthy Campus and Student Learning Conferences coming up on Monday, March 23rd.
Across the college this year, our educational focus remains firmly on high-quality teaching aligned to the Department of Education statewide educational model - VTLM 2.0, consistent routines through Starting Right and the continued strengthening of literacy and numeracy outcomes – with our main literacy focus in 2026 being Reading. A key priority for the college continues to be building strong attendance habits, as every day at school matters for learning and connection. We greatly value the support of families in reinforcing the importance of regular attendance and punctuality.
We look forward to a school year that promises to be defined by growth, strengthened by consistency and enriched through shared success.

School Production - Wizard of OZ
In week 1, our inaugural College Production had their first ‘casting call’ as the rehearsal schedule, scripts and other important details for the Wizard of Oz production were explained. Director – Nick Mawson and Producer – Amanda Bauch, did wonderful job welcoming students and families to what is sure to be a very memorable and rewarding experience. We look forward to sharing regular update as the show comes to life.

Golsworthy Captain Legacy

Meg Farrell, School Captain 2013, standing proudly beside our current School Captain Mohammed. Meg returned to campus as part of the Blue Edge program, once again leading from the front in our local community. From student leader to community leader, she embodies what it means to give back, stay connected and continue to serve. Alumni like Meg are such an important part of our college story. They show our current students what is possible beyond the school gates, and they remind us that leadership is not a title, it’s a lifelong commitment to others. So proud to see past and present captains side by side. The legacy continues.
Community Events
Our Campus Community Events kicked off for 2026. These events are an important reminder that strong schools are built on strong partnerships. Creating opportunities for families to connect with staff and one another reinforces our commitment to Collaboration and ensures every family feels welcomed and included from the outset.Over the coming weeks, the events will rotate across all campuses, with Goldsworthy tailoring the format to host its Family and Student Information Night. As the photos show, there was plenty of fun to be had, with Kathleen and Rachelle setting the benchmark for campus participation in the dunk tank. Thank you to all staff for your enthusiastic support in making these events so warm and welcoming. And a special thanks to our Community Event “fairy godmother,” Gordana, for bringing it all together.

Our Year 7–12 Athletics Day was a fantastic celebration of competition, connection and house pride, bringing students together from across all campuses. Students competed enthusiastically across a wide range of track and field events, with some outstanding individual performances across every year level. Blue, red and green ribbons fluttered in the breeze as Houses cheered one another on. The day also offered plenty of alternative engagement opportunities, including inflatables, park games, jewellery making and the ever-popular dunk tank. Costumes, house face paint and colourful hairspray added to the carnival atmosphere.Events of this scale require significant planning and energy. Thank you to all staff for their efforts, and congratulations to Ben Lowery and team along with all staff for delivering such a well-organised and memorable day for our students

Rotary Meeting - Performing Arts Presentation
On Wednesday the 18th of Feb, Amanda Baulch went along to a Rotary breakfast meeting to present all things IMPACT and Performing Arts. Rotary were kind enough to fund a very special program called Kaboom Percussion for our Year 5/6 students. The program was a huge success and to say thank you, Amanda had the Rotary crew up and moving to their very own Kaboom lesson. A great morning was had by all. Rotary is a very special stakeholder to the college community, and they love to be involved in college events. If you’d like to invite them to your event, please speak to the comms team. Thanks Amanda, for your amazing presentation for Kardinia Rotary. They can’t wait for the next presentation!
