Sustainability

End of Term 2 – Sustainability Update 🌿

From the Sustainability Team

As Term 2 wraps up, we’re proud to reflect on the amazing growth across our school not just in our gardens, but in our community, leadership, and commitment to sustainability.

♻️ Container Deposit Scheme – A Strong Start!

Container Deposit Scheme Journey begins in partnership with Return-It, and it’s already making a big impact. The Albany Rise Community have embraced the initiative, helping to reduce waste while raising awareness about recycling and resource recovery.

Events like our recent school disco were a fantastic opportunity to collect bottles and cans.

Fun and sustainability can go hand in hand!

🎤 Assembly Highlight – Guest Speaker from Return-It

We were thrilled to welcome Taylor Barrett from Return it at our assembly. Taylor shared insights into how container recycling works, and why it’s so important for our future. Her visit inspired thoughtful conversations. A big thank you to Skyla who is a part of our green team for her thoughtful introduction/presentation at school assembly.

🌟 Growing Student Leadership –

Welcome to Our Wider Green Team Members- Skylar, Finn, and Nathaniel, who have joined our ever-growing Green Team this term.

💚 Thank You to Our Environmental Leaders

A heartfelt thank you to our environmental leaders, Theo and Ashar for their energy, enthusiasm, and initiative. It has been wonderful to see so much interest from our senior school students, who are leading by example and helping to shape a strong culture of environmental responsibility across the school.

🌱 Flourishing Gardens & Outdoor Learning

Our veggie patch is growing beautifully and drawing lots of attention as it becomes more integrated into our learning programs. 1/2P sharing their experiences and enjoyment after recently visiting the veggie patch. Meanwhile, our native garden has continued to provide possibilities to provide a peaceful, educational space for students.

🌳 Tree Planting

This term, we planted new trees throughout the grounds, working toward our goal of a greener school landscape for future generations.

Looking Ahead

Term 3 promises even more opportunities to connect, grow, and take positive action. Thank you to every student, staff member, and family who has supported our sustainability efforts your actions, big and small, are shaping an amazing Albany Rise.
