Term 3 Setup for Success: Learning for Life

We are excited to release our Term 3 program with lots of different experiences planned for the next 9 weeks. Please click on the button below.

Our Term 3 weekly Monday sessions run from 9.15am to 10.15am until the last week of term, Monday 22 September 22.

What is Setup for Success?

Setup for Success is an initiative of the Tasmanian Catholic Education Office.  It is a free early years program promoting learning for life for young children and their families.  This program is open to all families within the community who have a child between birth and five years of age.

What do our sessions look like?

When you arrive at our Learning for Life sessions, you are welcomed in to the space and encouraged to sign in. Our sessions are for families to play and learn together. There is always a variety of activities available for families to explore including art and craft, dramatic play, sensory play, construction, reading together  and outdoor play. We encourage Parents/carers to follow their child’s lead in play. We often come together for a group time half way through the session, this is where we might sing some songs, read and/or play some games together. To conclude the session we enjoy some healthy morning tea together before saying goodbye.

Winter Illnesses

Unfortunately, winter illnesses such as influenza are increasing within the Mount Carmel College community. This is a timely reminder for parents and students to practise infection control measures.

To minimise the spread of infection, coughs and sneezes should be covered. Hands should also be washed frequently with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitiser.

Common symptoms of influenza and other contagious viral infections are fever, cough, muscle aches and fatigue. Less common symptoms include sore throat, runny nose and difficulty breathing. Children may also have abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.

Children experiencing any of these symptoms should be kept home from school until they are well and symptom-free. Please contact the College Office on 6216 7900 if you have any queries or concerns.

Health & Physical Education (HPE) Uniform Transition

At the start of Term One, 2026, the 2-year transition period for the Health & Physical Education (HPE) uniform will come to an end. As such, from Term One, 2026, students will be required to wear the ‘new style’ HPE uniform items only.

Please note, students completing Year 10 in 2026 are exempt from this requirement.

As a reminder, these updated 'new style' HPE items include the following:

  • Track jacket

  • Track pants

  • Quarter Zip Top (replaces rugby jumper)

  • Leggings

  • Bike shorts

  • Shorts

  • Skort

Please note that the Representative Sports Polo Shirt and Singlet are not yet required to be transitioned.

If your daughter is currently wearing any of the former style items, you will need to make arrangements to purchase them in the new style prior to the commencement of Term One, 2026. To assist with this process, and to ensure that adequate quantities are available, we ask that you complete the order form below, indicating your required items.

Completion of this order form is crucial in ensuring adequate stock quantities; failure to indicate your required items may result in them not being available for the start of 2026.  If upfront payment creates a barrier, a layby arrangement can be made - simply write “layby” in the payment details section and you will be contacted by our Uniform Shop Coordinator.

If you are unsure of sizing, please visit the Uniform Shop to try on. The shop is open:
