Blue Edge

Every Tuesday, Term 2, the Blue Edge crew. A handful of year eights, 2-3 police members, teachers, fitness trainers, and other educators. We would meet, at classroom 1012, and start with rotations or a running exercise. One peculiar day we did the beep test, we found out our average and got our breath back. Other days we would do things such as weighted activities and core exercises to start. Next we went into the classroom and talked about a different topic every week. Afterwards we would have a shared meal, continuing our discussion. Throughout the program we participated in activities such as finger printing, clay building, spaghetti and marshmallow tower building and so much more.
At the end of the program we had a day off school, to go to a day camp at Lady Northcote Discovery Camp. When we arrived we went straight to the leap of faith and high ropes course. Next we headed to archery, and played lots of games. After that we went to the giant swing, most of us had two goes. Some people sang songs as they went down. The whole Blue Edge experience was incredible and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to participate in the program. We all forged new friendships, gained more confidence and fitness all while having a great time.
