Welcome back for Term 3. It’s difficult to believe that we are in the second half of the school year, although I’m sure after two months of Winter there are many keen to see us in Spring already. As is evidenced by me writing this from Mount Buller, on Snow Camp with our Grade 5/6s, we have hit the ground running as always. Resultantly, a few updates and reminders follow.
Ramps
The Ramp Works that have been taking place over the past months continue, and aim to be finished by the end of August. Whilst the new ramps don’t necessarily excite as much as a new stadium will, they will provide safer and compliant access for our disabled community and hopefully for those with prams and strollers getting around the school. I appreciate your patience and flexibility in navigating the temporary fencing and change in some line up areas.
New Fence
I’m sure you’ve noticed the new fence and gates that now border our school. It has addressed some significant maintenance issues and made a huge improvement to the aesthetic of our school. The section that has not been completed is because this is the area that will be affected by the new stadium build and therefore will be fixed up alongside these works.
Stadium
With the funds for our works and new stadium build being delivered, we are busily getting to work on getting the works started. I am currently clarifying with the Victorian School Building Authority whether we are able to share the full plans with you all, however I can share that:
This plan means the school loses very little usable play space and gains new classrooms and an amazing new sports and performance facility. I look forward to sharing detailed plans with you before works begin early next term.
The information session presented by Inform and Empower last week was incredibly informative and practical. Whilst it was disappointing not to see more families in attendance, we fortunately do have the recording which is available for the next three weeks. I strongly encourage all families, particularly those in Grades 4-6 to watch. Please find the link below.
Due to the Building Works, the Art Trail has been moved forward to Wednesday 27th August from 3:30pm. This will be a fantastic whole-school event with all students displaying artworks alongside their peers. I encourage you to clear your afternoon and get along at some stage to take in the works from our talented students.
