Foundation

Literacy

In Literacy, we have been having lots of fun learning about different types of Australian animals which is also a part of our Inquiry unit this term. The Foundations have enjoyed decoding, reading, and writing about echidnas, quokkas, crocodiles, and snakes. We have also been practicing our handwriting using our 'sky, grass, ground' books!

Numeracy

In Numeracy, the Foundations have been learning all about ordinal numbers through measurement. We have enjoyed measuring and comparing different things such as the height of students and objects. We then ordered them from shortest to tallest and discussed our reasonings!

Book Week

On Monday, HEPS celebrated book week by having a parade where students could dress up as a character from a book. We saw a variety of creative outfits on display like Minecraft, Disney, Harry Potter and story book characters. Students enjoyed a special visit from author Sarah Speedie, who talked all about her books, played a game, and narrated her story 'Meowster Chef' supported by some very eager actors!
