Level 4

Reading
The past few weeks have seen our students engaging in Book Club sessions within the classroom. It has been wonderful to engage in chapter books together with very rich discussion and our students taking on specific roles to guide the sessions in a mature way.
Writing
Our students have been using the 6+1 Writing Traits as a focus when creating written pieces over the past few weeks. We have also been fine tuning our research skills and producing some fantastic Information Reports. Next week will see a shift to the Narrative genre, where we look forward to some really creative and fun pieces.
Book Week
Our Book Week dress-up day was another great success. Thank you for the time and effort that goes into ensuring the students are dressed and excited about the day. Congratulations to all students who entered the ‘adventure’ writing competition and a very special mention to Olivia 4BA and Sasha 4CB, who won with some unbelievable pieces. Our students spent the day engaging in many literacy activities and enjoyed the visit from children's author, Sarah Speedie, who thrilled us with her stories and enthusiasm.
