EDSC Success at the 2025 SSV State Cross Country Championships!

Two of our most talented distance runners represented the College in the SSV Cross Country State Championships held at the Yarra Valley Racecourse during Week 1 of Term 3. In cold, muddy and uncomfortable conditions, our students represented EDSC with pride and passion - pitting themselves against the best cross country runners in the state.

Results from the day are as follows: Alyxa - 7S - 27th in the Girls 12-13 Years age group. Annabella -7H - 68th in the Girls 12-13 Years age group.  These are an outstanding set of results from our students and as a College we congratulate them - well done! Finishing in the top 30 is a significant achievement at this level.  We look forward to watching the progress of these students in the coming years!

Year 10 Gym Club

We started the year as a start-up club that had never been run before. As a Physical Education teacher, basketball coach and avid gym user I wanted to share some of my expertise and time to allow interested students to supplement their current programs with an extra workout at school. The response from interested students was great but as fate would have it, just enough signed up to make it comfortable. Our school gym is not huge so the group we have was the perfect size.

After running an induction for all students involved, they came prepared each Friday with their workouts, maximising their time. The teamwork between all students has been awesome, spotting each other and sharing equipment admirably. Care and Compassion and Respect are also shown in the way they treat the equipment and pack up after its use. Looking forward to continuing this with the students next semester.
