NEW School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support Tokens!

Staff give out SWPBS tokens to students for showing behaviours from our matrix.  When students have collected several positive behaviour tokens, they can exchange them for rewards in our STAR Shop (student token achievement room).

You may have heard from your children or noticed in the classroom that they have been receiving different coloured positive behaviour tokens over the last couple of terms. This is all part of our new token system, that the SWPBS Team have created. Students will now receive a blue coloured token from a Specialist teacher (Art, Stem, Music, DigiTech) and a pink-coloured token from a Tutoring session with Miss Nazima Sahib our school Tutor.

Students are enjoying this new system, and it makes it clear to see that they have been working hard to demonstrate the school values: Respect, Responsibility and Resilience across all learning settings and with different staff within our school community.

Below is a picture with each of the different coloured positive behaviour tokens and how they may look on a student’s STAR chart within the classroom.

Blue tokens represent our Specialist Teachers.

Pink tokens represent our Tutor Nazima .

When students have collected a number of positive behaviour tokens and filled in a board, they can exchange them for rewards in our STAR Shop (student token achievement room).

Students around the school are working towards achieving gold, diamond and platinum behaviour status. We have loved seeing students’ excitement and pride in their achievements within the classroom and at the STAR Shop.

Clyde Primary School is a School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) School. SWPBS is a framework that brings together school communities to develop positive, safe and supportive learning cultures.  SWPBS assists schools to improve social, emotional, behavioural and academic outcomes for all students.

At Clyde PS, we have created a Matrix of Expectations that positively states the behaviour we want to see in our community.  It has been created around our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.

This matrix is on display in all learning spaces and around the school.  Students are taught lessons around these behaviours and are acknowledged for showing them by staff.  These lessons run once a week at the start of the week.

If you have any questions about our SWPBS program or would like to learn more, you can contact Mr Russell at school.

The Importance of Attendance at Clyde Primary School

At Clyde Primary School, we believe that every school day counts. For our Foundation to Year 6 students, regular attendance is the key to building strong learning habits, developing social skills, and achieving their best academic results. Every day at school is an opportunity to learn something new, practice important skills, and take part in activities that help students grow in confidence and resilience. When students are away, even for a short time, they can miss out on valuable lessons and experiences that are difficult to make up. Consistent attendance helps children stay connected to their classmates, follow the learning sequence, and maintain steady progress throughout the year. We also ask families to let the school know in advance of any upcoming holidays or planned absences. This allows our teachers to prepare learning materials if needed, and ensures we can continue to support your child’s education while they are away.

Together, we can help every student at Clyde Primary School get the most out of their education—one day at a time.
