Middle School

Term 3 has arrived! Students were busy catching up with each other after a fun filled break. But now the work begins. Check out what we have been up to! 

Reading: In our reading sessions we have all picked a novel to read independently working on a Book Report. Students are working hard to read their novel and answer comprehension, prediction and analysing questions about their novel. It has been great to see everyone build their love for reading! 

Writing: In writing, students have been working on writing a narrative. These narratives are apart of the "Everyone's An Author" program where teachers will select students' work and share it with other schools in the community. Students have been tasked with writing a narrative about a Fantastical Journey. I'm excited for parents and family members to read these stories. 

Maths: We have been working on Shapes. Identifying the parts and names of 2D and 3D Shapes. We have also begun work on calculating the perimeter of simple and complex shapes. We will soon begin work on finding the area of 2D shapes.  

Humanities: We have begun a new unit covering Civics and Citizenship. More specifically looking at the difference between Rules and Laws. Soon we will turn our attention at the levels of government and how they operate.
