SchoolTV -Managing screen time

Assembly message
Today, Mr Jones spoke with our Year 3 and Year 4 students about the importance of sleep and how it affects learning, focus and overall wellbeing. One key message was the impact of screens before bed. Students were encouraged to avoid interactive screens, such as tablets, phones and video games, in the hour before sleep to help their brains wind down and prepare for a good night’s rest.
At assembly, students watched the SchoolTV clip What Effect Do Screens Have on Kids’ Sleep? to help them understand the science behind healthy sleep habits. We encourage families to watch the clip together and have a conversation about setting up a calm bedtime routine at home. Coming off the back of our Book Week Parade, it’s the perfect time to swap screens for stories. We’d love to see all students enjoying a good book in the 30 minutes before bed each night.
