Senior Secondary End-of Year

Year 11/12 students completed their TCE final examinations last Thursday, 21 November. All students were pleased that this time was over and that their work was completed for the year.

On Monday evening, 25 November, the Senior Secondary dinner was held at The Beach House Restaurant at Blackmans Bay. The night also included a celebration of the Year 12 students who have completed their senior secondary studies. The Student Captains, Hyland Smith and Sophie Rowe, shared their reflections on the Year 12 students as well as incorporating encouraging scriptures and thoughts for them as they embark on the next stage of their journey.

Mrs Bennett and Mrs Schuth added encouraging and challenging words in relation to what the Year 12's have done, and to continue to maintain their faith and use what they have learned and experienced in the next stage of their life journey.

Year 11/12 TCE examination results and course ratings will be emailed to students on Wednesday 18 December. In the following days, TASC will post out hard copies of the Statement of Results, TCE Certificates for Year 12 and others such as VET certificates.

Congratulations to the Year 12 students on attaining their TCE certificates. May God richly bless you, keep you, direct your steps and give you His peace.

Year 7 Christian Studies

In Christian Studies, Year 7 students have been finding out about what it means to be a Christian, by creating a podcast from interviewing an adult Christian about their faith to learn about the influence of Christianity at a personal level. They then had to write a promotional article for their podcast, some of which you can enjoy reading below.

TASC Art Exhibition

Last Wednesday evening the SCC community, including students, parents, family and staff, came together to recognise and celebrate Visual Art 3 and Art Studio Practice students’ art journey.

Viewers were able to get a close up view of a variety of media, from oil paintings, dioramas, ferrocement sculptures to watercolour and mixed media artworks.

Congratulations to Esther, Amelie, Dewan, Sienna and Jonah for their efforts and achievements. Amelie de Lacey’s artwork was selected by ArtRage to join QVMAG’s Exhibition Tour for 2025 in May (last photo). Well Done!

Secondary Sports Day – Year 7-9 (only)

Students in Year 7-9 had the opportunity yesterday during Learning Labs to place their 3 preferences for the sport they wish to play on the Secondary Sports Day, Tuesday 10 December. Students should note that there are limited spots for each sport and so second and third preferences maybe used.

The following sports are on offer: Soccer, Basketball, Netball, Indoor Cricket, and Table Tennis.

Once this list has been created, parents will then be asked to approve their child's sport via Consent2Go.
