Thank you to every family who purchased an ice-block from Lana over the last 2 weeks - we raised over $500 to assist her with registration fees and uniforms . We are so proud of you!

Conference 3 Sport Awards

This morning, Mr Heelis and Miss Devlin along with Lana attended the Conference 3 Sport Awards to recognise her for her high level of sporting achievements during the year, especially around athletics. Keep up your hard word and dedication to your sport!

2024/2025 Representative Sport

Congratulations to all our representative students this term. Recently Eva and Savina competed at the Sydney Tennis Trials while Noah and Owen had their turn at the Sydney AFL Trial. Go St Pats!

The details for trials in Rugby League will be released with nominated students before the end of this term. We don't require an in school trial for this sport. The Conference trial for both Rugby League occurs early in Term 1, 2025.

Students who nominated for the Football (soccer) trials were sent an email about the upcoming in school trial. An in school trial must be held as  we had more students register than what we can send. The Conference trial for Football (soccer) occurs very early in Term 1, 2025.

The Touch Football trials happen mid way through Term 1 and therefore details for this will be shared early next year.

Swimming Carnival

Our swimming carnival was held on Thursday 7th November at Engadine Leisure Centre. Congratulations to everyone for giving it their best efforts in the competitive events, grade events, kickboard races and of course the poolside dance moves. It was a great day of keeping active and supporting one another. Thank you to everyone who helped on the day and for bringing all that energy. The lifeguards were extremely impressed with how spotless all house colours left their areas. Below is a summary of our final results for the timed events.

Below are the results from our recent Swimming Carnival. Congratulations to all our competitors. Qualifying students have received a paper note informing them of their progressions for specific events.

Conference 3 Sport Awards

Congratulations to Lana from Year 5 who received an invitation from SCS to attend the 2024 Conference 3 Sports Awards at Aquinas Catholic College. We look forward to sharing some photos from this event as Lana is recognised for representing NSWPSSA at the School Sport Australia Athletic Championships.

K-1 Splash Day

We are looking forward to our K-1 splash day which will be held on the 4th of December. The sessions will be run by an external company. It is a 1.5 hour program filled with fun fitness games in the form of partner battles, team challenges, races and much much more that all involve water. Children will get absolutely wet from the very first game and completely drenched by the end of the program. It’s the perfect water program to Get FIT, Stay COOL and have Splashtastic Fun! More information to come, it will be shared on compass.

SCS HOLIDAY PROGRAM

Catholic Schools are hosting the Aquathlon again in 2024. Please see the below flyer for details on how to get involved in this event. If your child does attend one of the SCS sport events in the school holidays, we would love to see you share some images with us.

COMMUNITY SPORT

On the 27th of October Hunter from Year 2 participated in the Gymnastic NSW State Championship under 8s and finished with a silver medal. He completed the rings, vault, high bar, P bar and Pomel. What great images Hunter has shared with us.

Ethan from Year 6 was recently selected by Basketball NSW to participate in the  Talented Athlete Program (TAP). The 2024 TAP trial process saw over 857 athletes trial from across all of NSW. Ethan was also selected by Basketball NSW in the  U14, Metro Boys and Girls D-League tournament last month!

The aim of D-League is to identify talented players and coaches from Country and Metro NSW, who are competing and coaching within the NSW Spalding Waratah Junior Leagues and assist with their development by having them train, play and coach with and against each other in a tournament-style environment.

Basketball NSW also selected Ethan to play in the Southern Cross Challenge (SCC) tournament in January 2025 in Melbourne. The SCC gives elite junior players the opportunity to compete against development squads from other States in Australia.

Ethan has also been selected in the Basketball NSW Development Athlete Program which runs for six months commencing January 2025. Well done Ethan, we wish you all the best!
