St Patrick's End of Year Concert 2024 Centenary Play

St Patrick’s End of Year Concert 2024 - Centenary Play

Dear Parents and Carers,

This year our annual end of year concert will be in celebration of the St Patrick’s Primary School Centenary and will feature a play about life in Australia and at our school in the last 100 years.

Our centenary play is on Wednesday 11th of December, in the school grounds starting at 6:30pm. Students are expected to be at school at 6:00pm and sit in their class lines. We expect to finish around 8:30pm.

Each grade will be presenting a song and dance that is part of our play and will be dancing to songs from each decade over the last 100 years. With all these performances in mind we have made suggestions as to what each grade could wear. This is not to put pressure on any parent, if there is any problem please contact your class teacher or myself.

Parents and family members are invited to watch the performance on the playground - on the COLA/asphalt and grass playground. There will be a stage set up under the COLA for the performance and chairs for the students to sit on. There will be limited seating available for parents on the asphalt area, so parents and family members are asked to bring their own portable chair. Please consider bringing a chair that doesn’t obstruct the view of other audience members.

WHAT TO WEAR: Students may wear any item of suitable clothing (dresses, shorts, t-shirt, shirts, skirt or pants) that fit within these colour schemes:

KinderRed and white
Year 1Orange, Yellow and white
Year 2 Blue and white
Year 3Green and white
Year 4Denim and white
Year 5Black and white
Year 6 Christmas theme - red, green, white, Santa, Mrs Claus or elf outfits and Christmas accessories

Parents needed: PARENT DANCE!

We would really like the parents to be part of the fun this year and do a dance to match one of the decades. The parent dance would be for the 1940’s. There would be a video of the dance for you to learn at home in your own time which would be shared when you email Miss Norris to let her know you want to be part of the dance. Also our dance teacher Miss Jesi would be out the front leading you on the night of the concert. On the night of the concert we would work out placement on the stage for you. You would dance as a group for the first time on the stage on that night. Please help us make this happen. You don’t need to be a great dancer, as we would keep the moves simple.

We look forward to a happy and enjoyable evening celebrating our school’s centenary.

Many thanks, Miss Norris
