News and Notices
Thank you to our school community, students, parents and caregivers for another wonderful year.
We are incredibly proud of the efforts and accomplishments of our students and their demonstration of The Tally Way. Our students are dynamic, interesting, caring young people who impress us every day. They are a credit to their families and the quality of education and care provided by Team Tally.
As this year is drawing to a close, we are already looking forward to the new school year with great excitement. School resumes on Tuesday, 28 January 2025 and will start with our traditional special first day of the school year welcome for students. There will be a Tally Together event for parents and caregivers after they drop their children off to their classrooms. They will be able to enjoy some time together and connect as a community with a coffee van serving free coffees.
We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season and new year!
Tally Way Day
Students had a fabulous Tally Way Day and enjoyed the free pizza, disco and activities to celebrate the year. Tally Way Day is a signature school event that allows children to apply the skills and attitudes learnt through our whole-school wellbeing program, The Tally Way, within a context of fun, belonging and connection.
Being at the heart of a nurturing school community, our students and staff benefit from that support. Tally Way Day was enhanced by the contribution from of our Gold Prosperity Partners John Fischer & Shelley Watkins - PRD Burleigh Heads, our P&C and the awesome parents and carers who volunteered. Our P&C and volunteers did an excellent job distributing pizza to around 800 children and looked fantastic doing it!
Year 6 Graduates
Last Thursday, we farewelled our 2024 Year 6 graduates. We celebrated our Year 6’s achievements through a Graduation Ceremony with parents and carers, a Year 6 student social event and our traditional Tunnel of Love will be held today (details provided for Year 6 parents and caregivers via ClassDojo). The Tunnel of Love involves our whole school assembling throughout our grounds to celebrate and farewell our graduating students.
It has been our absolute pleasure to see these incredible children flourish throughout their primary years. We are confident they will go on to be successful high school students then adults.
Thank you to the following people and organisations for supporting these events:
- Tallebudgera State School Parents & Citizens Association
- Our Prosperity Partners: John Fischer & Shelley Watkins - PRD Burleigh Heads, Lauren Macdonald & Glen Parsons - Nurse Next Door, Ryan & Jodi Harding – Cricks Tweed
- Honourable Karen Andrews MP
- Councillor Gail O’Neill

Congratulations to the graduating class of 2024 and their families! Thank you to parents and caregivers of our Year 6 students for your partnership and support.
Night of Stars Performing Arts Showcase
Congratulations to all students who performed at our Night of Stars last Thursday night, the evening was spectacular! We were impressed to see our students' enjoyment of the performing arts and the skills they have developed as a result of their dedication. It was lovely to have so many family members and caregivers attend to enjoy the show.
Thank you to our fabulous Performing Arts team, Tegan Ireland and Miranda Olsen, assisted by Miss Sophie (Dance Team Leaders), Reuben McLean (Strings), Mark Slingbsy (Band) and Bonnie Hapi (Choir) for teaching our students and preparing them for their performances. Thank you also to YMCA for providing a free sausage sizzle!
Volunteer Appreciation Morning Tea
Last Friday we held a Volunteer Appreciation morning tea. Our school is enriched by the involvement and generosity of volunteers and we are very grateful. A big thank you to all our special volunteers for the work you do! Students painted stones with messages for our volunteers as a gesture of appreciation from our school.

We wish Vivienne all the very best for her retirement and thank her for a long and successful career inspiring students and staff. She is one in a million and will leave a strong legacy from constant kindness, optimism and an attitude of calm gratitude. School Shoes
It's nearly school shoe shopping time again. Please remember that shoes must be plain black with no white or coloured soles, logos or trim of any kind. Boots are not the uniform. Socks must be plain white.
Wonderful Tallebudgera community, please keep a caring eye on our school.
Empty schools can become targets for unlawful entry, arson, stealing, graffiti and property damage, especially during school holiday periods. If you see anything of concern, please report it to school watch. If there is an emergency, please call 000.
Thank you for helping!
