Year 6 Canberra Trip 2024
Recently, Year 6 students joined Mrs Glover, Mrs Lang and Mrs Dines on a week long excursion to our nation's capital, Canberra.
Our 40 students visited iconic and significant places such as Parliament House, Questacon, The Mint, The National Gallery, The National Musuem, The War Memorial and Government House. They also had a lot of fun cooling off at the Aqua Park on Lake Burley Griffin.
Our coach driver, Gordon was impressed with the way our students cared for each other and demonstrated respect at all times during the week. Gordon takes students on excursions for a living - and he rated our crew highly! Likewise, our Federal Member for Cowper, Pat Conaghan posted our students to social media sharing how impressed he was with their enthusiasm and level of questioning.
Thank you to everyone that supported this excursion and the fundraising efforts that helped us reduce the cost. Boambee PS would also like to acknowledge the assistance received by the Australian Government's Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER) program. Each participating student received a subsidy of $45.00 towards the cost of the excursion.
And finally, thank you so much to the amazing teachers for taking on this MASSIVE, but rewarding excursion!

Year 7 Orientation Day - Toormina High School
Last Tuesday, our Year 6 students attending local public schools attended their Orientation Day. Mr Doyle, Mrs Glover and Mrs Dines went along to Toormina High to check it all out. Students met teachers from different departments and got to experience things like cake decorating, woodwork and science. Students all gathered at the end of the day for a bit of fun - singing karaoke in the library.
It was great to see students connecting with others and forming new friendships. We are proud of the growth and achievement our Year 6 students have demonstrated this year and wish them all the best as they approach their next stage of education.
