Level 1
Literacy
The Level 1 students have begun a short novel titled ‘My Father’s Dragon’. We have been absolutely loving this story and have enjoyed participating in our book club to analyse the text. Our roles have included, ‘Super Summarisers, Word Wizards, Quiz Masters and Passionate Predictors’. We have even connected our learning into Maths as we have drawn a map of ‘Wild Island’ too. We are looking forward to discussing our learning over the next few weeks.
Colour Run
We have been fortunate to have participated in the HEPS Colour Run! It was an absolute blast as we got to run around the school with our friends and be covered in a rainbow of colours. Not only was this a fun experience, but we were able to help raise money for the school. We even had a lucky class member who raised over $100 be picked to slime Mrs Whitefield!
Inquiry
This term, our inquiry topic is 'Spot the Difference,' and we’ve been having a great time exploring it! We've engaged in various hands-on activities and experiments, as well as participated in an incursion, all designed to help us understand reversible and irreversible changes. We’ve also started to learn about the properties and states of matter. As we prepare for our Mad Scientist Show, we've been investigating different types of experiments and are excited to share everything we've learned with our families!
