Works over the Christmas Holidays

We are excited to be getting closer to the building works beginning at HEPS. Over the Summer break the initial stages of building will begin for the new administration block, upgraded fire services, student toilets and playground. During this time the community will not be able to access the school site. This includes playing on playgrounds, the oval or netball/basketball courts. We ask that you remind your children of this so they do not have to be asked to leave the site by contractors.

It will be exciting when the children return to school to be able to see what progress has been made, and to be able to utilise the new toilet block.  We expect the building of the administration block to continue through most of the 2025 year. This will provide many opportunities for the students to observe different stages of the project and the complexities of how a building is created. I am sure many children will be excited to watch machinery at work during the year.

2025 Class Teachers

In 2025 we will again be running with six specialist teaching areas of PE, Art, STEAM, Sustainability, Performing Arts and Japanese. The respective teachers of these areas are Mr Hodgson, Mrs Mountford/Mrs Hunting, Mrs Dennis, Mrs Whitfield, Miss Austin and with a change from Art to Japanese, Mr Clarke. Mr Clarke will be with us for the first 6 months of the year with Miss Pond resuming in the second half of the year.

Jason Mulder will be our tutor and High Ability Practice leader. Kim Holmes will be taking on the new DET priority role of Mental Health and Wellbeing leader. Kim's primary role will be working with school staff, DET staff and external agencies to build capacity in the whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing.

We will run with 26 year level classes as tabled below.  We are finalising class lists and students will find out their 2025 teacher on the meet the teacher session on the second last day of school. Parents will be notified of class teachers in their school reports.

The Level 6 Camp to Waratah Bay was an exciting surfing and adventure experience designed to build resilience, teamwork, and confidence in students. Set against the stunning backdrop of Waratah Bay and with perfect weather, students participated in a range of activities including surfing lessons, beach games, and outdoor adventures. They learned new skills, connected with peers, and embraced challenges in a supportive and fun environment.
