Bonjour
I’m excited to announce that Christy Roberts has been appointed to the Deputy Principal/Learning Adjustment position, following a successful selection process.
Christy has been teaching for 25 years, with 10 of those at St Laurence O'Toole Primary School. Passionate about student wellbeing, she became the Wellbeing Leader six years ago, later expanding into a Learning Adjustment role five years ago, where she has supported students, families, and coordinated external services. This year, Christy stepped into the Acting Deputy Principal role, where she has continued to demonstrate strong leadership, supporting both staff and students while fostering a positive school culture.
Congratulations, Christy, on this fantastic opportunity! Her appointment will be for a three-year term, starting in 2025.
Starting today, we will implement a new protocol for students traveling on the shuttle bus and being picked up from the bus transit area. This is being done to address recent concerns and to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our students.
Students who are meeting parents at Leongatha Secondary College will be required to stay with the shuttle bus duty teacher until they are safely collected by their parents.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
We are currently planning teaching teams and class placements for 2025.
If you have a genuine request for your child’s placement, please let me know as soon as possible. I also ask that parents do not request specific children or teachers for their child’s class - our teachers are highly experienced and skilled, and they work closely together throughout the year to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment. They collaborate regularly to share strategies, plan lessons, and address the individual needs of each student, creating a strong, team-based approach to education.
All requests must go through me, so please don’t ask the classroom teacher directly— they will refer you to me.
With only 13 school days remaining in 2024, let's make the most of the time we have left!
Jours heureux
Liz
