Red Class
Miss Graham
It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through Term 4, and the end of the school year is fast approaching! K/1 student have continued to grow in confidence, independence, and enthusiasm for learning.
Literacy
K/1 are getting close to finishing their set of sounds for the year, and they are becoming much more confident in using these sounds to spell words. Their writing focus has been around informative texts, and the students have loved learning about different animals, discovering where they live, what they eat, and other interesting facts about them.

Mathematics
In Maths, we have been counting forwards and backwards, exploring 2D shapes, learning about area, and telling the time. Telling the time has been a particular highlight, with all students showing strong engagement and picking up the concept quickly!

Creatives Arts
K/1 have been experimenting with a variety of techniques to bring their creations to life — including water painting, cutting, and drawing. They have really enjoyed expressing their creativity and seeing their finished artworks come together beautifully. Our class has also begun practising their Christmas dance, which they will proudly present on Presentation Day. The students are very excited and can’t wait to perform for you all!

HSIE
In HSIE, students have been learning about places including where they live and discussing what their homes look like. They also had fun exploring Google Maps, visiting exciting places around the world such as Disneyland and the Great Wall of China.
Home Reading
Please continue to read with your child each night. A renewed sound and sight word document has been sent home — please review these regularly with your child to support their progress. If your child needs updated readers, please remind them to bring their take-home folder to school so their books can be changed.
