In grades 1 and 2 we have made Balloon dogs in the style of Jeff Koons,

practising gradients, highlight, shadows, depicting rounded forms on paper,

as well as assembling the dog parts on background paper.

Here are a few for you to enjoy:

Over the last few weeks the grades 3 and 4 have outdone themselves with 'Dapper Dogs',

inspired by Heather Caller. They have completed a dog picture, added zones and patterns, both on the dogs and on the background:

The grade 5 and 6s delivered hand-made boxes. This required cutting, folding and glueing.  Some students even took the trouble of adding items inside:

PE

Physical Education sessions have moved towards preparation for summer sports. Lessons have been focused on developing skills for team sports and also working on the skills specific to summer sports. An emphasis is also going to be placed on water safety as we are heading into a time when lots of us will be in and around water.

Recently, we had a few of our students compete in the Southern Metropolitan Athletics event. Jackson Varga competed in the 12/13yr old boys high jump, Vickshana Vicknesh competed in the 9/10yr girls discus and Chizitere Abosi competed in the 9/10yr boys hurdles. Whilst these three did not advance, this was an amazing achievement, as it was the last round before state finals. Well done!
