Aurora Sprints into the History Books at State Athletics! 🏃‍♀️💨

A huge congratulations to Aurora C, who proudly represented Trafalgar Primary School at the School Sport Victoria State Athletics Championships at Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park on Thursday 6 November.

Aurora competed in both the 12–13 Girls 100m and 200m events, setting both a new personal best, and new school record, time of 13.58 in the 100m, resulting in an 11th place finish in the state of Victoria. In the 200m event, Aurora qualified for the finals with another personal best, and school record, time of 27.98. In the final, she put together an exceptional performance once again, where she ran a time of 28.14, which was good enough for a 7th place finish overall in the entire state of Victoria!

This is an incredible achievement and marks the highest recorded finish ever by a Trafalgar Primary School student in school athletics. Aurora’s dedication, focus, and effort reflect the spirit and determination we value at Trafalgar PS.

Congratulations, Aurora — you’ve made Trafalgar PS history! 👏

Taekwondo Clinics Wrap Up for 2025

Over the past few weeks, students in Foundation to Year 2 have taken part in a series of Taekwondo clinics run by Rhee Taekwondo. These sessions have been a fantastic opportunity for students to learn new skills, develop confidence, and practise respect and self-discipline in a fun and active environment.

The clinics concluded last week, with students showing great enthusiasm and improvement throughout the program. We’d like to thank Rhee Taekwondo for their continued partnership and commitment to supporting our school’s Physical Education program. Their professionalism and positive approach have made the sessions both engaging and enjoyable for all involved.

Senior Golf Clinics Conclude at Trafalgar Golf Club

Over the past two weeks, Trafalgar Primary School’s Grade 3–6 students have taken part in a series of golf clinics at the Trafalgar Golf Club, delivered through our ongoing partnership with the club. These sessions introduced students to the fundamentals of golf, including swing technique, putting, and course awareness, in a supportive and enjoyable environment.

Students demonstrated great enthusiasm and sportsmanship across both sessions, with many discovering a new appreciation for the game. The clinics were a wonderful way to promote skill development, patience, and focus—qualities that carry beyond sport and into everyday life.

We’d like to extend our thanks to the Trafalgar Golf Club for their ongoing support of our school’s Physical Education program and for providing such a positive learning experience for our senior students.

Growing Cricket for Girls – Cricket Blast Success!

Our Growing Cricket for Girls program has been a huge success so far, with plenty of enthusiasm, energy, and smiles on the school oval each week. Delivered in partnership with Cricket Victoria, this free after-school Woolworths Cricket Blast program, gives our female students the opportunity to build confidence, develop new skills, and have fun through cricket.

It’s been fantastic to see so many girls giving cricket a go—some for the very first time—and supporting each other along the way. The sessions are open to all girls, regardless of age or experience, and there’s still time to get involved!

The program continues on the following Wednesdays from 3:30pm to 4:30pm on the school oval:

  • November 19
  • November 26

To register, simply visit the link or scan the QR code on the flyer sent home earlier this term. Let’s keep building opportunities for girls in sport—everyone in, nobody out!

Music Room Chronicles

Excitement is building for this year’s Festival on the Lawn - Friday 5th December. That’s 3 weeks away!

The students are practising hard on their chosen instruments, and the class songs are sounding great in music class.

The Art, Drama and Dance departments are also busy preparing for the day. Teachers and ES staff are also working hard on a staff song that will be played between the Grade 5 and 6 classes towards the end of the concert.

Some classes have a theme that they will dress in. I have included this in the song chart below. Remember that the festival is free dress, and it is up to students/parents/guardians to choose what students wear. (You don’t have to go out and buy anything unless you want to).

Many vendors including: Lions club bbq, Big bear donuts, Twistie potatoes, Wheelie good pizzas, Icecream van, Gelato van, Coffee van, Grilled cheese toastie van, and Gippsland Jersey are all locked in and will be there on the day. Parent and Friends will have a stall and there will also be face painting.

Looking forward to it.

Stay tuned for 1 more update in the next newsletter.

Even in the areas we didn’t win, our students showed wonderful enthusiasm — reading, moving, eating well, and practising mindfulness together. You’ve all helped promote healthy habits and positive wellbeing across our community, and that’s something to be proud of!

A big thank you again to Baw Baw Shire and all the organisers for such a fun and inspiring week. We can’t wait to get involved again next year!

Term 4 Junior School Council Final 2025 Fundraisers

The Junior School Councillors have been working very hard this term, working out what charities Trafalgar Primary School would like to support, and the fun ways to do it!

Gallery Image

Our first fundraiser will be ‘Jeans for Genes Day,’ on Friday 28th of November. Students are encouraged to wear denim clothing and bring a gold coin donation. The funds raised will go to the Children’s Medical Research Institute, who do amazing work researching various medical conditions that affect youth, and working towards programs to bring cures to Australian children who suffer from disease.
