Hello from PE

Region Athletics
On Friday the 24th of October we had 9 students representing LPS at the Regional Athletics Competition at Casey Fields. All the LPS students represented themselves and the school with pride. Although we didn't have anyone go through to state level we had some students do a PB, which was fantastic. The school would like to congratulate all the students who competed at regional level.
Tabloid Sports
Our Prep - 2 students participated in the tabloid sports day on the 23rd of October. The students had a fantastic day dressing up in their house colours and participating in the different activities such as: cornhole, tunnel ball, vortex throw, chicken run, soccer and basketball. A big thank you to Miss Hussey who ran a great day for all our juniors.
Striking and Fielding
This term in PE we have been focusing on striking and fielding skills and games. Our Prep-2 students have been working on striking from tees with cricket bats and softball bats. They have also worked on overarm and underarm throwing as well as catching. Students have enjoyed playing games such as rapid fire, strikers Vs fielders and cone raider. The Prep-2 students will finish off the year with some target game skills.
In years 3-6 students have been working on skills needed to play cricket and tee ball. These skills include throwing, catching, bowling, and batting. They have then applied these skills in mini games of last pair standing, Kanga Cricket and rapid fire.
The year 3-6 students will finish the year off with golf.
