Padua College warmly invites your school community, Langwarrin Primary School, to attend an important evening forum addressing the upcoming changes to social media laws that will significantly impact young Australians.

From 10 December 2025, new legislation will require social media platforms to restrict users under the age of 16 from creating or maintaining accounts. This reform is designed to reduce online harm and promote healthier digital habits among children and teens.

To support families and educators in understanding and navigating these changes, Padua College is hosting a community conversation featuring:

  • A representative from the eSafety Commissioner
  • Wayne Holdsworth from Smack Talk, a local advocate and key supporter of the reform
  •

This session will provide:

  • A clear overview of the new laws and their implications for students
  • Insights into how platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube will enforce age restrictions
  • Guidance from the eSafety Commissioner on compliance and support
  • Practical strategies for schools and families to help young people adjust

We believe this event will be of great value to the community. Your presence will help strengthen our collective efforts to support the digital wellbeing of our students.
