Galilee Community
Dear Foundation Families,
What a wonderful week of learning in Foundation! We’ve been exploring what it means to show kindness and follow Jesus’ example in our words and actions. We also learned about green flags and red flags to help us stay safe and look after our bodies. During Mass, we were so proud of how reverent and respectful everyone was — listening carefully to the Gospel and singing joyfully with the school community

Next week:
English: This week, we are learning the /th/ sound! Students will be practicing saying, reading, and writing words with the /th/ sound, such as the, this, and moth.
Mathematics: In Mathematics, we’ll be diving into the world of measurement as we explore capacity, length, and mass! Students will take part in fun, hands-on activities to compare and measure different objects — from filling and pouring containers to seeing which items are the longest or heaviest. Through play and investigation, we’ll build our understanding of how we can describe and compare the size, weight, and amount of things in our everyday world.
Social Emotional Learning: This week, we’ll be thinking about the special people who help keep us safe — our trusted adults! Each student will create a colourful paper hand to show who their trusted adults are, and we’ll explore different situations where we might need to ask them for help.
Auslan: This week in Auslan, we will be revising all of our Unit 7 signs to strengthen our understanding and confidence in using them.
