Remembrance Day Ceremony- Tuesday 11th November  10:45 am

One Minute's Silence

Each year on this day, Australians observe one minute’s silence at 11am, in memory of those men and women who have died or suffered in all wars, conflicts and peace operations. At St Fidelis, the children will participate in a short prayer service at 10:45 am and observe the one minute silence at 11:00 am outside near the flagpole. All parents and carers are welcome to attend.

Planning for 2026 is well underway. As I am sure you can appreciate, student placement in classes for the following year is something we take seriously and take time to consider. The “Class Creator” program assists us to sort students into classes based on:

  • Academic, emotional and social needs
  • Reasonable gender balance across classes
  • Reasonable  academic balance across classes
  • Relationships of students both working and friendship
  • Special placements needs

The teachers also ask their students to list three  friends that they learn well with not necessarily are their best friends. We consider students' voices when planning classlists.

The staff as professional educators make decisions in light of what is best for the child and for the school. If you believe you need to communicate any information that could impact on your child’s placement please email mwatson@sfmoreland.catholic.edu.au for consideration no later than Friday 14th November.

Information should be based on individual needs and not requests for teachers. Please note a request is not a guarantee, it will inform the process. Emails received after this day will not be considered

2026 Class Structures

As our school continues to grow and respond to both increasing enrolments and evolving curriculum directions, we will be making some small adjustments to our class structures in 2026.

Next year, we will have straight Foundation to Year 4 classes, while Years 5 and 6 will continue in a multi-age setting. Our plan is to move towards straight Year 5 and Year 6 classes in the coming years as our numbers continue to increase.

Although the structure may look a little different, our commitment to knowing every child and meeting their individual learning needs remains the same. Differentiation in each classroom will continue to be central to our approach, ensuring all students are supported and challenged at their point of need.

We are confident these changes will provide the best learning opportunities for all our students and help us continue to build a vibrant, connected, and thriving learning community.

Thank you for your ongoing trust, support and partnership as we work together to provide the best possible learning environment for every child at St Fidelis.

STEMMAD Adelaide - Here we come!!

November 18th

Congratulations and Best of Luck!

We are incredibly proud to announce that our Year 6 students Zara A, Estelle K, Zac A, and Alexander H have been selected to represent St Fidelis at the STEM MAD National Showcase in Adelaide on Tuesday, 18th November 2025!

Their innovative design and prototype creation, the “SENSO CANE”, impressed the judges and earned them a place at the national level. The SENSO CANE is a remarkable invention designed to support individuals with vision impairment, a true example of creativity, empathy, and STEM thinking in action.

This is a tremendous honour, as St Fidelis is the only MACS Catholic school representing the Melbourne Archdiocese at the national event! The students will travel to Adelaide with their parents, Mr Frazzetto and Ms Pirrotta to present and showcase their project to the public, sponsors, and curators.

Please join us in congratulating our amazing young innovators and wishing them the very best of luck as they proudly represent our school and community on the national stage!
