Monday 17 November - Sod Turning Event
This Monday, 17 November, we will be holding a Sod Turning event to celebrate the beginning of construction on our Admin building renovation. The Hon. John Berger, MLC will be attending along with representatives from the architects, builders and our school council and parents' association.
The event will be in the Blue Area during sessions 1-2 and all Year 2-6 Student Voice Representatives and Year 6 Ministers have been invited to attend. All other students and staff are to remain in class as usual.
Could Senior Campus teachers please send your SVR and /or ministers to the Blue Area at 9:10am on Monday 17th November. The SVRs will be in the audience and the Ministers will be running the official ceremony. Once the ceremony is finished, the SVRs will return to class and the ministers will join the special guests on a tour of the construction site. The whole event will be finished before 11am so that the Blue Area is available for lunch and recess.
I have briefed some of the SVRs so they are aware of what is happening but missed a few as they did not attend the meeting. I have also emailed all SVR and minister parents so many may discuss this with their children over the weekend. Could class teachers Year 2-6 please check in with your SVR on Monday morning to ensure they are aware of what is happening and where they need to go.
Any queries, please see Kim, Sue S or Janet. Thanks!
Kim

Monday 17 November - Important information for AEU Members
In response to the recent request in the AEU Bulletin, please join us to take action on school funding during the visit of Hon. John Berger, MLC.
If you're a union member, please wear your red AEU t-shirt to demonstrate your support for the AEU. If you didn't order one or joined the AEU after the order was placed, you can contact Kellie who has a few spare or wear another red top from your wardrobe!
We also encourage any non-members to wear red to show support. We will organise a photo opportunity with us in our red at some stage during the day.
Our other actions will be to:
- Display AEU campaign posters by the SC and JC entrances, which will be visible upon the visitors' arrival.
Hand Hon. John Berger, MLC a letter to request that he raises this issue with the Premier, Education Minister, and Treasurer and seek that this funding cut is urgently reversed.
This will be the first of our onsite AEU actions this year and we are planning to follow the same process for the upcoming visits from other politicians. We will keep you updated on the dates and actions throughout the term.
Rachel and Kellie - JC & SC Reps
MOVEMBER - Please support by scanning QR code or clicking on poster!
