Principal's Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

Yesterday, 1st November, we celebrated All Saints Day. On this day we remember all those who made significant contributions to the Church and society in God’s name.

Lord,

You have given the saints in Heaven eternal happiness and they now live in the fullness of Your glory. Thank You for the gift of their holy lives. During this time, we also remember family members and loved ones in our local parish and community who have passed and left behind wonderful, long lasting gifts and memories.

Amen.

Mission Day Fete

On Friday 20th October we held our annual Mission Day fete. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to display their initiative in setting up stalls and activities to raise money for those who are less fortunate. All the money has been counted and the children raised $1830 which will be forwarded to Catholic Missions. Well done to all the children, a great lesson in social justice.

Prep orientation sessions

Prep orientation sessions for our 2024 students will be held after school hours on Monday 27th November, Tuesday 28th November and Wednesday 29th November. Information went out last week informing families of which of these sessions they are invited to attend. The children will be back on the morning of Tuesday 12th December. On this day they will meet their Grade 6 buddies.

Hats

A number of children are still turning up to school without a hat. The grace period has now finished, and children not wearing a hat will be asked to play under cover. Even though we are still experiencing some cold weather at this time of the year, the UV levels are still high.

2024 Classes

We are still in the process of finalising staff positions for 2024. I will inform you of classroom / specialist teachers in the coming weeks. Next week the teachers will make a start on organising class groupings for 2024. The children will spend a ‘move up’ morning with their 2024 classroom teacher and class grouping on Tuesday 12th December.

Leadership Retreat

This Thursday and Friday Jodie Hassett, Judy Carr, Paula Parish and myself will be attending leadership professional development. On this retreat we will be setting goals and priorities for the year ahead. Should you need to speak to someone in leadership, please make contact with Kerryn Williams.

A reminder that Monday is a pupil free day and Tuesday is a public holiday.

Enjoy the rest of your week.
