SCSA VET Awards Ceremony – 15 February 2024

Last night, Ms Rainford and I had the privilege of watching Nick Kelly receive his SCSA Award at their annual ceremony.

Nick was awarded the VET Exhibition for Construction Industries and a Certificate of Excellence for Construction Industries.  This award, acknowledged Nick to be the highest ranked student in that category throughout WA for 2023.  It really is a fantastic achievement.

We often tell students that if they work hard, they will achieve success, and Nick is a perfect example of this in action.  During his time at the College, Nick gave every activity his full effort and embraced any opportunity that came his way.  In addition to his WACE Graduation, Nick also completed a Certificate III in Sport & Recreation and a Certificate II Electrotechnology.  His pre-apprenticeship to become an Electrician required extensive work experience, which he completed at ADCO Electrical.  He has since signed on for a fulltime apprenticeship with ADCO and last night told us how much he loves what he is doing.

We would also like to extend our thanks to ADCO Electrical as they have been a great supporter of the St Norbert College WorkPrep program, and in particular, were a great support with Nick’s application for the SCSA VET Award.

We wish Nick all the very best in his future endeavours and have no doubt that his positive attitude and strong work ethic will see him achieve ongoing success.
