Catholic Youth Ministry Perth - Hype Night

Catholic Youth Ministry Perth is launching an exciting new event, and we invite you to join in the fun! CYM is partnering with Parish Youth Groups and Catholic High Schools to bridge the gap and provide a place for young people in our Church to belong. Please find attached an event overview for our upcoming Hype Night event, which shares with you our vision and how we can work together, to connect youth to their local Parish Youth Group and the wider Church. Registration for the event can be found at https://events.humanitix.com/hype-nightWeext

Parent Committee

Our Parent Committee is a group of parents who come together to provide opportunities for fellow parents to meet one another and participate in the life of the College.

It’s not about fundraising, but what can be done to support students and bring parents together.

The Parent Committee continue to organise wonderful events, such as the Mother’s Day and Father Day Breakfasts.

A relaxing and fun night coming up is a dinner get together for Year 7 Parents on the night of the Year 7 Social on Thursday 21 March 2024. Details TBA and then communicated to parents.

There’re also informative seminars being organised for parents and we would like to have parent input and ideas about future seminars.

On Wednesday, we had our first meeting for 2024 and it was great to catch up and welcome new members. We extend an invitation to all parents to consider joining the committee. The next meeting is on Wednesday 13 March 2024.

Transperth - Free Public Transport

From Monday 5 February 2024, any primary and secondary school students with a valid Student SmartRider will be able to travel for free on Transperth services for any journey Monday to Friday, until the end of the school year.

Please remind students they need to tag on and off, or they will receive a default fare. If their SmartRider goes into negative balance as a result, they will not have access to free travel.

For schools located near the Armadale/Thornlie Line, students can now access their free travel via their Student SmartRider instead of the Shutdown free travel passes.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1.  What if I don’t get my Student SmartRider until the end of February?Given some school students don’t get their SmartRiders until the end of February, if a student does not have a SmartRider on 5 February they will be allowed to travel for free without a valid ticket, however, from 1 March students must have their Student SmartRider to travel for free or purchase a cash ticket. When students have received their Student SmartRider they should start using it immediately by tagging on and off each journey to avoid their SmartRider failing to activate.
  2. Where can I find out more information about Student SmartRiders? Visit www.transperth.wa.gov.au/smartrider/types-of-smartrider/student-smartrider  for more information.
