Secondary Sub School Rooms 19 - 27

Term 4 continues, and the weather is constantly unpredictable. The students are hard at work and the teachers are busy finalising assessments for reports.

We have had many excursions over the last couple of weeks in the secondary area, including Tenpin Bowling for Rooms 25, 26, 27 and VPC. It was great to see some very high scores. However, most importantly it was fantastic to see all the smiles and the competitive nature of our students.

I was also pleased by the secondary students during the evacuation drill. These times can often be quite dysregulating with such a big change to routine. However, the secondary students handled it wonderfully.

Concert practice has been constant throughout the secondary school as teachers and students finalise their performances. I had the pleasure of viewing the production during a dress rehearsal. I have no doubt you will enjoy the mix of stage performers and some fun recorded videos!

Room 26 also had a trip to Werribee Zoo. The experience was fun and everyone enjoyed being part of it.

On Tuesday, October 24 several Advance students were fortunate enough to be invited by Basketball Victoria to travel to the State Basketball Stadium in Knox to attend a skills day. In addition to improving their basketball skills our students were fortunate enough to watch and meet players from the SE Melbourne Phoenix basketball squad. The excitement and fun continued when we had the awesome experience of playing a full court wheelchair basketball game together. It allowed our students to empathise and observe the athleticism required of all aspects and categories of the game.

After the exertions on court our students enjoyed lunch and were able to walk away with some gifts to take home. It was a fantastic day hosted by Basketball Victoria and I am sure each student slept well that night !
