This week at JSA, we have been celebrating Occupational Therapy Week. The students have engaged with a variety of fun activities that address fine motor and gross motor development, as well as activities that support regulation needs. Activities highlighted included visits to our popular climbing room, where students have the opportunity to test their strength and balance in a supported and safe space. Students also practiced planning skills while using the soft mat circuit in our new sensory room. There was even a special "OT" dance that our therapists created digitally, so that students could engage with at any time throughout the day. A very special "thank you" to all our therapists who made this week so engaging for our students!

In addition to some special activities, our regular therapy programs continued, which include the much loved visit from George, our therapy dog from Canine Comprehension. Our students are so excited to see George and have learned how to wait their turn to be with George, and how to pat him gently.

A reminder about hats and suncreen this term. Please send in a hat with your child's name on it, and we can help them to wear it at school. We are having warm, sunny days and UV rays can be high on these days. We do apply sunscreen on students, however applying sunscreen to your child each morning will give then added protection.
