November 11 - Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day is a time to honour and remember those who have served in the armed forces.
A suitable book for this day; Stories of heroism, courage, and sacrifice. Extraordinary courage and unbelievable nerve - that's what it takes to be awarded a Victoria Cross. Acts include jumping into enemy trenches with just a bayonet for defence or catching enemy bombs mid-air and throwing them back. More than one and a half million Australians have fought in a war, yet only ninety-eight have been awarded the Victoria Cross, the Commonwealth's highest military honour for bravery. For Valour: Australia's Victoria Cross Heroes tells some of their remarkable stories.
November 13 - World Kindness Day
World Kindness Day is a perfect opportunity to promote empathy and kindness at Harvey Ag.
To complement this initiative, we recommend the heart-warming children's book "Wonder" by R.J. Palacio. This touching story about a boy named Auggie, who faces unique challenges, teaches valuable lessons about kindness and acceptance. It's a must-read to inspire empathy and highlight the importance of treating others with compassion.
