Principal's Report

COLOUR RUN

Unfortunately, I was unable to be at school for all the fun on Friday, but it’s clear that excitement levels were high, and everyone enjoyed the experience.  Given this was our first colour run, everyone should be proud of how everything panned out.  Apart from all the fun that was had, the event raised much needed funds around $20000.00 profit which helps to fund our involvement in Energy Breakthrough and with the running of other programs across the school.

Thanks again to Jarrod Rodgers who put a lot of time and effort into planning and running the event.  A big thankyou to parents for supporting the event by sponsoring your children and helping them get sponsorship from others.  It was great to have lots of parents attend on Friday, adding to the atmosphere.

It was great to have members from the local CFA come along to spray some water around and add to the fun and we appreciate the efforts of staff who got into the spirit and supported the event…including those that were slimed along the way.

Attached you’ll see some great photos.  A big thankyou to Paul Shire for being our official photographer, but also to Sam Dekok who brought along his drone and took some great footage.

World Teachers’ Day

This year, World Teachers’ Day is on Friday 27 October. It is an opportunity to say thank you for the incredible contributions teachers make to our community.

We will recognise the passion teachers have, and how teaching has extended beyond the classroom to maintain connections through flexible learning.

We will be celebrating World Teachers’ Day this week by acknowledging the incredible work our teachers do to inspire and educate our young minds. Teaching is a profession that goes far beyond textbooks and lesson plans. Our dedicated teachers play a vital role in shaping the future of our students, instilling knowledge, values, and a love for learning that will last a lifetime.

We acknowledge and thank all of our teachers here at Buninyong PS for the work they do.

The Department of Education has a dedicated World Teachers Day webpage where you can find out more!

PARENT REQUESTS FOR CLASS PLACEMENT 2024

A reminder that you have until November 10 to let us know if you have significant issues we need to be aware of when allocating your child to a class for 2024.  Those messages can be communicated with your child’s teacher or one of the principal team members.  See last week’s newsletter for more detail relating to placement requests.
