Dear Parents,

St. Joseph's continues to be just a special place to BE!

Our heartfelt thanks to the parent group who organised the Social night on Saturday night. It was a wonderful night full of fun and positivity and a brilliant community building night. The hall looked amazing with all of the wonderful ARTwork on display. The band was fantastic and the highlight of the night was the wonderful Jason Beach who had us all entertained and laughing all night.

Thanks to Narelle, Beth, Jacqui and Lacey and all of our staff and community who assisted with this wonderful event.

Last Friday, I submitted a State building application for a new Foundation building and the refurbishment of the junior building. The plans for both stages are below and we wait with hope that our application will be successful.

This week is an exciting week at St Joseph’s with the 3/4 community heading off to Forest Edge camp on Thursday and Friday and the Junior Parish sports being held here at St Joseph’s.  Please come along and support our juniors as they participate in a tabloid sports with our other Parish schools St Mary’s Hastings and St Brendan’s Somerville.

Our junior students will participate  in the  Long Walk Indigenous excursion at Balnarring. The Bunjil nest project is such a wonderful connection for our students and community. Working with Balnarring Pre- school and other local schools and early learning centres is an example of how community works for the common good of all of the students in our area. Thank you to  Leah Hogg and Mason De Witt our Indigenous leaders and the Junior and Bunjil communities for all they are doing in this most important area of our curriculum as we strive to always  respect, recognise and celebrate our nation's first people.

Congratulations to our Year 6 students who participated in the Padua Academic Challenge last Wednesday at Padua Mornington. It was a wonderful day where students put their talents to the test across a broad range of domains including drama, art, science, literacy and numeracy.

Finally, Congratulations to Ava  and Maddie  who will travel to the city tonight to the State Tidy Town awards where they are finalists in the young legend category with their project on Ocean Warriors.

Also congratulations to Louis and Ava who have been successful in proceeding to the National MAD ( make a difference) STEM awards with their projects on Space Suit and Locked syndrome.

Yours in Partnership,

Gab
