Lunchtime Activity & Restoration Project

MINECRAFT LUNCH ACTIVITY

As a group, Zayden R, Luke B and I decided to address the issue of online bullying as part of a community action project.

Firstly, we explored the range of issues that go with online bullying and from there, we came up with the idea to create a Minecraft school community group.

This is a group that involves junior students at the college to come together and participate in a Minecraft world, where they have a chance to work together to meet common goals and build friendships.

We run a lunch time activity every Tuesday and we would like to invite anyone student who is interested in joining this group in the hopes that we can make this activity a long-term project.

If you have any questions, please contact Luke B or Cooper W on teams.

GARDEN RESTORATION PROJECT

As a part of VM PDS, Nolan, Ochre, Tyden, and Marius have planned, prepared and planted 25 bottlebrush (Callistemon) plants near the table tennis tables out the front of the VM rooms. We chose the Bottlebrush plant as they are a tough, native, drought resistant plant.

So far, we have only planted the bottlebrushes half of the length of the retaining wall, however it has made a clear improvement. So, we are looking forward to continuing on with this project during the warmer months.

As these plants start to grow and develop, we ask all students not to jump the fence down from the oval, and to take the stairs instead. As jumping the fence will most likely result in damage to these plants.

YR 12 CELEBRATION DAY

The Year 12's spent their final day of school at the Melbourne Cable Park, sharing plenty of laughs and experiences on the high ropes course and inflatable world. There were some tired eyes amongst the group, but that didn’t stop them from getting amongst it in what were perfect weather conditions.  A special shout out the Year 12 leaders for organising the day. You have been such a strong leadership group all year. Thanks also to all of the staff who supported throughout the day and with the huge cooked breakfast beforehand - Mrs Scott, Ms Claringbold, Mr Hogarth, Mrs Sellenger, Mr Prior, Mr Davis, Ms Holderness, Miss Toprak, Mr Mason and Mrs Flemming from HOL. We wish each and every Year 12 all the best for the future.

EPP ARTVO EXCURSION

Last week our Enhanced Performance students attended Artvo at Docklands.

Students enjoyed using their creative thinking skills to interact with the artwork and to come up with some fantastic photos!

Special thanks to Ms Guerin for stepping in to take the excursion at the last minute.
