Week 9 is a transition week for students from Winter to Summer Uniform, with Summer Uniform compulsory from Week 10.
A reminder that tomorrow, Friday 30 August, is a student-free day.
Last week, six students from Clayfield and Pymble Ladies' College embarked on a memorable three-night exchange. Hosted by billet families and the Boarding House, this opportunity allowed Year 8 students in both Sydney and Brisbane to step beyond their comfort zones, meet new people, and engage in experiences that foster independence. These exchanges are crucial in helping students develop confidence and competence as they navigate new environments. We are deeply grateful for the ongoing relationship with Pymble Ladies' College, which continues to provide valuable opportunities for our students to grow and connect.
This exchange is something I will never forget. I had the amazing opportunity to immerse myself in life at Pymble and explore Sydney.
Our time in Sydney was filled with unforgettable adventures—riding the sledgehammer at Luna Park and enjoying movie nights with my host family were definite highlights.
I also discovered that Pymble offers so many opportunities in both electives and sports. This experience has not only been fun but also incredibly enlightening.

This exchange has been an incredible opportunity, and I am truly grateful for the experience. Discovering life at a school in Pymble, Sydney, has been nothing short of amazing.
Some of my favorite moments included going to Luna Park with both Clayfield and Pymble girls, riding the 240 bus, enjoying the fun at Manly Beach, and spending quality time with my host sister. These experiences were highlights of my time here.
I also learned how fortunate we are to have such a vibrant community at Clayfield and the value of connecting with others. This exchange has not only broadened my horizons but also deepened my appreciation for the friendships and connections we build.

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Pymble Exchange. The highlights for me were strolling along the beach and enjoying the rides at Luna Park, both were fantastic experiences!
I deeply appreciate the warm hospitality of my billet family and the wonderful memories we created together. A special thank you goes to my new friend, Kate, who made this adventure even more enjoyable. She taught me about metro transportation and the daily routines of being a day girl, which enriched my experience greatly.
While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye, I’m thankful for the connections made and the incredible moments shared. I look forward to seeing Kate again and cherishing the fond memories of this exchange.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Pymble Ladies' College! The warmth and kindness of everyone here have made the experience truly special, and meeting new people has been a highlight.
Exploring iconic Sydney landmarks like the Opera House, walking along the Harbour Bridge, and spending time at Manly Beach were absolute favorites of mine. Each moment was filled with excitement and wonder.
I also discovered that being a boarder in Sydney offers a different experience compared to Brisbane. It’s been fantastic to explore Sydney alongside some of my best friends and my wonderful billet, Cleo. This adventure has been an unforgettable journey, and I’m grateful for every moment!

My time at Pymble Ladies' College was truly enjoyable! Exploring the boarding house and walking around Manly were highlights of my visit. I particularly loved the strolls along Manly Beach, each walk was filled with fun and beautiful sights.
One of the most exciting aspects of this experience was living as a boarder for the first time. It was a unique and fun way to gain insight into the boarding life and added an extra layer of enjoyment to my visit. Overall, it was a memorable experience that I'll cherish.

Going to Pymble has been an unforgettable experience. The school's impressive size and stunning architecture left me in awe. I enjoyed the nostalgic feeling of being a daygirl again, complete with a packed lunch and no tech hand-in.
A highlight of the Sydney exchange was our trip to Manly Beach. It was an incredible day of exploration and relaxation, filled with fun activities and lots of memorable photos. Manly Beach provided the perfect backdrop for a day of adventure, and it truly made our Sydney experience special.

We are thrilled for our Year 9 students as they prepare for an exciting three night, four-day adventure in Conondale, nestled in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. This experience promises to challenge and inspire, offering a range of stunning locations for exploration and adventure.
In the hills of Conondale, students will have the opportunity to explore Booloumba Creek's rock pools and swimming holes, hike around Mt Allen, and engage in activities such as camping, bush survival skills, mountain biking, and navigation exercises.
With a focus on teamwork and connection, students will experience the natural world without the distractions of technology, allowing them to build authentic and meaningful relationships with their peers. This adventure is set to be a memorable and enriching journey for all involved.

Scholarship Opportunities
Have you looked into applying for scholarships as part of your university applications? Scholarships are often available to school leavers for various reasons, including financial assistance, academic excellence, or relocation from remote and regional areas. Additionally, there are scholarships specifically for First Nations school leavers. Please also note that closing dates for scholarships vary depending on the university, college or institution.
Scholarship Programs:
You can also explore bursaries as an option too. In between your exam study, take some time to research what scholarships and bursaries are offered by your chosen university, college or institution. Look for opportunities available to both school leavers and current university students in their first year and beyond.
Early Offers
Starting next week, universities like QUT will begin sending out invitations for their Early Offers. To be considered for this opportunity, make sure your QTAC application is complete. If your application is incomplete, you may not be eligible for these early offers.
QTAC
A friendly reminder to ensure that your QTAC application is fully completed by making the necessary payment. Please take a moment to take care of this to finalize your application process.
