Week 6 Term 3

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Book Week!

Children will enjoy a week full of reading activities with the shortlisted books. Our Dress-Up Day will be on Friday in the Hall. Everyone is welcome to join in, with the theme being "Reading is Magic!"

Important Notice: Punctuality and Responsibility

Developing strong life habits begins with punctuality. Arriving late not only disrupts the class but also results in missed learning opportunities.

Please note the following important times:

  • School gates open: 8:30am (students are able to play passive games in Hawthorn Yard )
  • Learning Space doors open: 8:45am (Students enter the classroom, unpack their bags, and follow the classroom routine, such as sitting in a circle.) Parents leave the learning space unless they are rostered as helpers.
  • Roll Call & Prayer: 8:50am Teachers call the roll and students say class prayer
  • Learning begins: 9:00am sharp

To instill good habits for life, we ask that parents ensure their children arrive on time. If your child is late, it is the parents' responsibility to accompany them to the front office and sign in to receive a late pass.

Please be aware:

  • No teachers will be at the SLA door after 8:50 AM.
  • The outside door leading into the SLA will be locked at 8:50 AM.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us create an optimal learning environment.

Trivia Night

A huge thank you to the Parents and Friends' Committee for organizing such a successful Trivia Night. Last week, the committee informed me that the total raised that evening was $5,591! This is an incredible effort for our community, and it was such a fun night to connect as a school. The funds raised will go directly towards continuing to support our new Junior Playground. Thank you again to everyone for your generosity!

Pupil Free  Day -Tuesday August 27th

A reminder that the school will be closed on Tuesday, 27th August, as our staff will be engaging in a Spiritual Development Day focused on Mary MacKillop at the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre in East Melbourne.

This day allows us to deepen our own faith journey so we can better support the children's learning of the Catholic faith. There will be no school for students, but full-day care through TheirCare will be available. Please make sure to book in if needed. theircare.com.au
