Play Based Learning

Dear Parents and Carers,

As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the outdoor learning environment for our students, we are excited to announce some new projects that will enrich their play and learning experiences. To bring these ideas to life, we are reaching out to you, our valued parent community, for support and assistance.

We are currently investigating the following outdoor play structures:

1. Wooden Shop Front: A mini storefront where children can engage in imaginative play, pretending to be shopkeepers, customers, and more.
2. Mud Kitchen: An area where kids can explore sensory play, creativity, and problem-solving with natural materials.
3. Large Wooden Toy Car/Track: A designated space for children to enjoy riding and playing with toy cars, encouraging physical activity and coordination.
4. Chalkboard Wall: A large chalkboard where children can draw, write, and express their creativity.

These additions are designed to foster creativity, social skills, and physical development. To ensure the success of these projects, we are seeking volunteers to assist with the following:

• Construction and Assembly: We need handy individuals to help build and set up the structures. If you have experience with carpentry, construction, or DIY projects, your skills would be greatly appreciated.
• Donations of Items/Materials: If you are willing to donate anything to the school e.g mud kitchen please fill out the form below. 

We are also in need of materials such as wood, paint, chalk, and other supplies. Any donations would be incredibly helpful.

• Fundraising: To cover the costs of materials and tools, we are organizing a fundraising event. If you are interested in helping with this, please let us know.

We are planning to commence these projects in Term 4. We anticipate they will take the term to complete, hopefully ready for the commencement of our 2025 school year. Below are some visual inspiration of what we are aiming for.
