Dear Parents and Carers,

A big shout out to all the families and friends who came to our 2024 Book Parade and Scholastic Book Fair. A huge thank you for your unwavering support in purchasing reading material for your children and promoting the love of reading.  "Reading is Magical” was the theme for this year’s book week and it is truly wonderful that our students embraced the opportunity to add new books to their home libraries.  

We sold over $9,000 worth of books and accumulated Scholastic Reward Points for every purchase you made. This year we spent our 2023 points to purchase hundreds of Decodable Readers Australia titles and Sound Waves books for our infant’s classes.  

Our author visit by Dr Cameron Stelzer was a huge success.  Many parents  ordered books and I am pleased to advise that they are on their way to our students.  They will be handed out the moment they arrive.  As a result of this author’s visit we purchased many of his titles and I am pleased to advise that they have been flying off our library shelves.  Many students who have been reluctant readers in the past are captivated by these books.  

Issue 6 for Book Club is available to peruse online.  We have decided not to send home paper copies of this issue as there has been so much happening this term. We are always mindful of the expense associated with educating children. If any child would like a paper copy of this issue please send them to the library any day at lunchtime and I will gladly give them out. If keen, order via loop as usual.

ALWAYS REMEMBER:
