Grade 5/6 Camp

Grade 1 - We began our 'Talk for Writing' topic this week. We found clues to solve the mystery of who came through our school. This reminded us of a story where very similar things happened called The Forest.

Grade 3/4 - In Grade 3/4, everyone has been recovering from the spectacular night that was the school concert!

All term, everyone at both the main campus and Batesford have put in so much time and energy into practising and preparing for the big night, and the audience was NOT disappointed!

The Batesford act went first and everyone was so impressed with the ‘Cars’ costumes and the fantastic dancing also – not an easy thing to do inside a cardboard car! The Hannah Montana girls put on some terrific moves also! This act definitely got the whole audience moving and grooving! The mash up of the two movies was really fun! Thanks to all of the parents who donated boxes to  help the cars costumes come to life! We think the students did an amazing job of decorating them to look like the real thing!

The main campus ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ was also a terrific spectacle! Many thanks to Julie in the art room for helping to create the amazing row boat and treasure chest props! They really added to the pirate theme and helped bring the whole act together. Well done to all of the students in 3/4 who were able to put their nerves aside and get up on stage with their classmates. Your teachers could not have been prouder!

Here are what some of the kids in 3/4 had to say about the concert:

  • “I felt really proud performing. At first I was scared but while I was performing, it went away. My favourite part was when everyone started singing the Wellerman!” Aviaan 3/4A
  • “I felt absolutely terrified performing and before the big day but afterwards I felt incredible about myself. I fell asleep straight away!” Oliver 3/4A
  • “I loved performing because it helped me get out of my comfort zone. I felt very proud afterwards.” - Parisa 3/4B
  • “I felt really excited when I was getting ready to go on stage. I loved when everyone thought we were finished but we kept going.” Arabella 3/4B
  • “The concert was really exciting. I was really nervous until we got on stage then I got a lot of adrenalin and energy and I just felt amazing.” Pat 3/4C
  • “I liked the concert very much. I was nervous at first but as I started doing it – I felt better. I felt really proud of myself for having a main part and after the concert, all my nerves went away. Jai (Captain Jack Sparrow) 3/4C
