STUDENTS OF THE WEEK - CATHOLIC VALUE AWARD

This week our Saint Hero is St Louis IX of France who displayed the value of Commitment.  Next week's Saint Hero will be St Anthony Mary Claret who displayed the value of Honesty. We encourage you to discuss each Saint and their value with your child/ren, helping them to learn how they can live out our Christian values.

THE FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION - THURSDAY 15TH AUGUST

The Church celebrates the Feast Day of the Assumption of Our Lady, when according to our faith, the Holy Mother, “having completed her course of her earthly life was

assumed body and soul into heavenly glory".

The Assumption signals the end of Mary's earthly life and marks her return to heaven to be reunited with Jesus. While the bodies of both Jesus and Mary are now in heaven, there is a difference between the Assumption and the Resurrection. Where Jesus arose from the tomb and ascended into heaven by his own power, Mary's body was taken up to heaven by the power of her Son. As a school we joined with our Parish in attending Mass at 9.15am.

SACRAMENTAL REMINDER

This coming Tuesday, 20th August @ 6pm our Grade 2 Sacramental children will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Please keep our 24 candidates in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to prepare for this special occasion in the coming days.
