Art

with Mrs Humphry

In Art this term, students have explored a variety of materials and methods while experimenting and going on many artventures.

Prep students have designed and created their own food sculpture of donuts. Using air dry modelling clay and markers each student created the ultimate donut.

In Year 1 and 2, students have looked at the water world of Monet and created their own lily pad piece of work using paint and origami.

They are currently working on making a Pout Pout fish based on the story by Deborah Diesen about a misunderstood and grumpy looking fish.

Over the last few weeks students in Year 3 and 4 have completed their own version of George Rodrigue’s famous image blue dog. Each students stated by drawing a basic dog and then created costumes and detailed back grounds to send there dog on a huge range of adventures.

They are all on display in the senior building near Year 3 and well worth the look.

They are currently learning to print using Gelli Printing plates, paints and many collage materials.

Year 5 and 6 have explored Indigenous songlines and how they tell the stories of the First Nations People.

They each drew their own family tree showing the many connections to communities they each have.
