Diocesan Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to those students that represented our school as part of the Southern Region at the Diocesan Carnival in Dubbo on August 23rd. All of the students competed well and represented the region with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Congratulations to Charlotte Shepherd and Oscar Nunn as they have both progressed through to the Polding Trials at Newcastle that will be held on the 13th September. We would also like to thank Robyn Petty as she was the school's official at the carnival.
Summer Sports Trials
Early next term students at school in Year 4 and 5 will be asked if they wish to be considered for the Summer Sport Diocesan Trials. To be considered, students must fit the briefing sent out to schools by the CEDB which reads as follows:
As this is a representative pathway trial, the students must display a high standard of ability in their chosen sport to warrant being sent to the trials. They should be involved in regular competition and have a sound knowledge of the rules of the game.
Depending on the number of students wishing to be considered, schools trials are then held as each school can only send a limited amount of students to each sport (the students do not compete as part of a Catherine McAuley team).
The sports that fit in this catergory are:
Touch Football - Boys and Girls
Softball - Boys and Girls
Cricket - Boys and Girls
Basketball - Boys and Girls
Tennis - Boys and Girls
These trials will be held in Dubbo on either the 14th or 15th of November.
